For optimal health, children between the ages of 5-17, should be very physically active, have few sedentary activities, and sleep a sufficient amount of time. A healthy 24 hours looks like this:

- 9 to 11 hours for children from 5-13 years old
- 8 to 10 hours for 14-17 year old young adults
- Regular sleep habits with similar bed times and wake times
